Following my passion for photojournalism I photographed a series of AHS and Durango community related events such as all school exhibitions and concerts at the Hive and wrote briefs and features to accompany them.
After attending The Lifespan of a Fact with other journalists at Merely players I was left pondering the topic of journalism in a democratic society. I fell between the line of fact and creativity because I, myself, am a mix of both. Therefore I believe that informing the public of current news (fact), as well as opinion pieces should be protected.
Not only do I see myself returning to journalism for class next year(for two periods) but for the rest of my life. My goals for next year are to take over the class in a leadership role and be able to produce work that I am proud of and that I put my all into, write and submit that work through my connection at the herald to have more professionally printed work.
I photographed the Spellabration featuring Animas' Humanities teachers Jessica, Lori, and Tory.
Here I covered the freshpeople career fair and explored career options with them.
At old Animas I covered a student led walkout surrounding issues among the students.
In this picture, Hanna and I were covering Julians band Anarchy Hammer for a documentary style story. We also photographed and interviewed all of the band members.
Photographed and wrote a short story on the donation of new camera equipment to photography teacher Drew's class.
I interviewed Erin CR at a collage and career event at AHS.
